Interior Architect of the Year

Sponsored by:

Johnstone's Trade

The 2014 Shortlist:

  • Chalk Architecture
  • Jestico + Whiles
  • SHH
  • DesignLSM
  • TP Bennett
  • Spacelab

Entires are now closed for 2014.

This award was open to architects working on the design of interiors – whether those of shops, restaurants, hotels, houses or offices. Entries included one built project from the last three years, and a minimum of 1 other project either built or unbuilt. One project could have been international. Among other things, the judges will be looking for evidence of all-round design excellence and fitness for purpose over a body of work. The size of the projects featured will not be a factor in their deliberations.

Interior Architect of the Year 2013 Winner:

Google Madrid

Jump Studios

With just 2 principles supported by a team of no more than 5 architects and designers, Jump Studios has built a world class, diverse and agenda setting studio working for some of the biggest and most dynamic organisations, brands and institutions around the world. With Clients such as Google, Nike, Rapha, Red Bull, Levi Strauss, Bloomberg, Starwood Hotels, Infiniti, Honda, Mother, Wieden + Kennedy and Selfridges, the studio is committed to a basic principle that good design better satisfies users, clients and designers alike.

The judges said: “The winners are design savvy but they’re careful not to push this too hard. The Google campus is a good example of how the office really understands the brief creating low cost offices for young start-ups, and its success means it is now being rolled out by Google in other locations.”
